Alan Fisch
President and sole proprietor of APF Circuit Design Inc.

Alan started his career in the electronic industry in 1980 with Computing Devices Canada (CDC - now General Dynamics Canada) on the assembly floor in the manufacturing plant.

His design career started in 1984 after graduation from the Electro/Mechanical Drafting and Design program at Algonquin College in Ottawa. Still with CDC he entered the drafting field at the Jr. draftsman level and in time made his way through schematic capture, librarian, checker and Jr. designer using the Mentor Graphics Boardstation CAD tools. As well as other responsibilities, he assisted with the writing of and instructing of a course to teach the Mentor schematic tool to the engineers. With experience at Leigh Instruments, Cadence Design and Lockheed Canada, Alan took on the responsibilities of CAD administration, process control and managing designs through to MCAD departments and assisting with selection of and interfacing with manufacturing vendors.

Continued success as a contract designer working with companies in such fields as Video Phones, Seismology, Wireless Audio, Wireless Ethernet Networks, Sonar, Echo sounder's, Metrology/Oceanography and Focus Ion Beam (FIB) has given Alan knowledge and experience in a variety of design disciplines such as RF, power supplies, mixed digital/analog circuitry, HDI (High Denstiy Interconnect), EMI (Electromagnet Interference), high speed design and impedance control requirements.

Alan holds memberships with the IPC Designers Council and the SMTA (Surface Mount Technology Association).
